The Cedars - Getting There

Getting there from the Information Centre

From the TIC in Broadford, continue north on the A87 and turn left at Sligachan, or from the TIC in Portree, take the A87 south turning right at Sligachan onto the A863. After 5 miles turn left for Carbost on the B8009, go through village and up the steep hill and on through Fernilea. In Portnalong turn left for Fiskavaig and then right at cross roads for Ardtreck. Take the track down to the field at the turning circle.

Getting There by Car

From Skye bridge continue through Broadford, north on the A87 and turn left at Sligachan, onto the A863. After 5 miles turn left for Carbost on the B8009, go through village and up the steep hill and on through Fernilea. In Portnalong turn left for Fiskavaig and then right at cross roads for Ardtreck. Take the track down to the field at the turning circle.

Getting There by Railway

Trains run from Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh to Kyle of Lochalsh railway station, from where you then cross the road bridge onto Skye and continue on the A87 on through Broadford until you turn left at Sligachan. After 5 miles turn left for Carbost on the B8009, go through village and up the steep hill and on through Fernilea. In Portnalong turn left for Fiskavaig and then right at cross roads for Ardtreck. Take the track down to the field at the turning circle.

Getting there by Aeroplane

There are flights to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh. All airports have car hire nearby and the drive is around 3 hours to the cottage from Inverness and 5 hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh. Getting There by Ferry

Ferries run from Malaig to Armadale and from Glenelg to Kylerhea. On landing head for Broadford and continue on the A87 until you turn left at Sligachan. After 5 miles turn left for Carbost on the B8009, go through village and up the steep hill and on through Fernilea. In Portnalong turn left for Fiskavaig and then right at cross roads for Ardtreck. Take the track down to the field at the turning circle.
